Swiss banking giant UBS announced an internal move in Hong Kong that sees the former head of the portfolio specialist unit take up a client facing team leadership role.
Via an internal memo seen by finews.asia, the bank announced that Michael Christo (pictured) will be joining the Hong Kong Domestic Kowloon Team as a Desk Head effective from 1st January 2017.
Christo was previously Head of the Portfolio Specialist Team in Hong Kong, responsible for marketing the Investment Products and Services (IPS) platform to UBS clients in Greater China.
He has been with the firm for 11 years, joining in 2005 as an Investment Consultant and then assuming the role of Head of Product and Services Consulting focusing on HNW and UHNW clients.
The bank said the appointment underlined their confidence to continue to expand the Hong Kong Domestic franchise in Kowloon with the establishment of a new Desk under the leadership of Adeline Chien (pictured).
With approximately 400 client advisors in the city, Hong Kong is one of the most important regional hubs for UBS. UBS Wealth Management is the largest wealth manager in Asia Pacific with 272 billion francs under management as of 31 December 2015.
