Perpetual Investments, one of Australia's largest independent wealth managers, has named the ex Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission as chairman-elect.
The current Perpetual chairman Peter Scott is retiring and is scheduled to step down on 31 May 2017. Scott joined the Perpetual board in 2005 and became chairman in 2010.
Replacing Scott, as chairman-elect, is former Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) chief executive and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) chairman Tony D'Aloisio.
D’Aloisio (pictured) is currently serving as chairman of IRESS, an ASX-listed financial services-facing IT solutions group, as well as a board member of PPB Advisory and Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery.
Before ASIC D'Aloisio held a range of high-profile financial services positions, including serving as the managing director and CEO of ASX for two years until 2006. He was also the chief executive partner at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques for 12 years.
He is perhaps best known however for his service as chairman of ASIC for a four-year term from 2007.
