HSBC Private Bank has announced the expansion of its Indonesian coverage with the introduction of a new team. Under the new structure, there will now be two dedicated teams covering Indonesia.
The teams will be led by Market Heads, Ingrid Widjaja and Lim Chee Kong, respectively. The expansion reflects the Bank’s commitment to growing its business and enhancing its client servicing capabilities in South East Asia.
They will both report to Sandeep Sharma, Head of Global Private Banking, South East Asia, the bank said in a statement.
Both Market Heads will also be responsible for new business development and executing the Bank’s strategy in the Indonesia market.
While Widjaja will continue to manage the existing team, Lim will head the newly created team.
Ingrid Widjaja was promoted to Market Head for Indonesia in November 2016, having been with HSBC Private Bank for almost 18 years. Prior to joining HSBC, Lim Chee Kong was Country Team Head, Indonesia at UBS Wealth Management, Singapore.
Pivot to Asia and ASEAN Strategy
David Ng and Chay Hong Leng have also been appointed as Desk Heads for Indonesia. The Desk Heads are responsible for managing and providing guidance to relationship managers in cultivating and deepening client relationships.
Ng was previously Head of Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Investment Counselling for South East Asia at HSBC Private Bank before taking on the new role while Chay Hong Leng joins from UBS Wealth Management, Singapore, where his last held position was Desk Head, Indonesia & Jakarta Representative Office.
The Appointments of Lim Chee Kong, Chay Hong Leng and David Ng are effective from 3 January 2017.
«South East Asia remains a priority market under the Bank’s Pivot to Asia and ASEAN strategy. I am confident that the expansion will enable us to drive our business into the next phase of growth,» said Sharma.
HSBC Private Bank made changes to its Asian units senior management in October 2016.
