The French insurer has named a new head in Singapore, after the head of its business in the city-state was promoted when a longstanding Asia executive departed.
Paris-based Axa Insurance has named Jean Drouffe as its new Chief Executive in Singapore.
He follows Doina Palici-Chehab (pictured below), who is standing in as Axa's head of business in wider Asia temporarily after Axa veteran Jean-Lois Laurent Josi said in June he would leave for other, undisclosed professional projects.
Wealth management portal «Hubbis» first reported the moves.
Recent Move to Asia
Like Palici-Chehab and Josi, Frenchman Drouffe is a long-standing Axa executive. The Paris-schooled engineer moved to Hong Kong last year, when he was named head of the insurer's general insurance business in the region.
«Singapore is a dynamic market with a diverse economy. With our unique breadth and depth of solutions spanning all lines of businesses, we are well positioned to continue our growth journey here,» said Drouffe, who will report to Palici-Chehab.
Previously, he had held senior roles for Axa in France and the U.K. Earlier this year, Axa merged its life insurance and general insurance businesses in Singapore into one unit.
