The jury of the Roger Ng trial reviewed the prosecutor’s proof of various treasures allegedly bought with stolen 1MDB money in the form of invoices.

U.S. prosecutors displayed invoices and images as proof of treasures bought by money allegedly siphoned in the multi-billion dollar 1MDB scandal, according to a «Bloomberg» report.

The display covered a $23 million necklace with a sizeable pink diamond, $58.3 million through five paintings purchased at Christie’s – including «Dustheads», a $51.8 million piece by Jean-Michel Basquiat – and a photo of the plastic case for «The Wolf of Wall Street» DVD.

Separately, production company Red Granite – owned by ex-Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s stepson and friend of Jho Low, Riza Aziz – agreed to pay $60 million in 2018 to settle the U.S. Justice Department’s claims that it financed the movie and other pictures with stolen 1MDB money.

Although there was no physical evidence to accompany the prosecutor’s display, there was also a statement already inserted into official court records by prestigious New York jeweler of the pink diamond, Lorraine Schwarts, who did not attend the trial as a witness.

According to the records, Low contacted Schwarts in June 2013 and requested to create a necklace for Rosmah Mansor, Najib’s wife, and would later strike a $23 million deal with the jeweler over a 22-carat pink diamond.

Schwarts then personally delivered the necklace to Mansor while aboard a yacht with Low off the coast of Monaco and the ex-prime minster’s wife would later purchase an additional $1.3 million in jewelry from Schwartz in 2014.
