7. Parmigiani Fleurier: Restoration in Fleeting Time

There is only one of this dragon creation in the world: Under the aegis of founder Michel Parmigiani, this company from Fleurier in the Canton of Neuchâtel has restored a historic piece from its Métiers d'Art collection under the name «Tempus fugit». The watch connects the legend of the dragon and the pearl of knowledge from Chinese mythology.

It has nearly 1,000 components, which required more than 5,800 hours of work and the participation of prestigious master craftsman to assume its present form. Highlights of the artisanal piece include the PF 670 watch movement and the 585 natural jade scales that were individually designed, cut, polished and set.


8. Piaget: Dragon & Phoenix

The Geneva-based luxury brand’s new capsule collection brings together no fewer than 16 individual watch and jewelry products. It combines the dragon and the symbol of the phoenix, which stands for masculinity and femininity, strength and power, hope and rebirth, harmony and balance.

The ten watches and high jewelry creations are accompanied by a number of very exclusive high jewelry, watches only made to order. The diamond-encrusted Altiplano Dragon Zodiac Watch (price on request) from the collection is limited to 38 pieces.


9. TAG Heuer: Two Carrera Watches with Dragons

Taking the renowned Carrera Chronographs as a starting point, the watchmaker from La-Chaux-de-Fonds has created two interpretations of the dragon motif around its Calibre Heuer 02 movement: one in steel and one in gold. 

The steel version of the watch features a sandblasted silver dial, while the gold version shines in 18 carat 5N rose gold with a rose-gold-plated dial. The opulent red lacquer emphasizes the refined, sporty character of the watch 

The steel version costs 6,150 Swiss francs, whereas the gold version costs 22,000 Swiss francs. However, getting hold of the watches will take a bit of luck. They are sold out online.


10. Swatch: Five-Piece Collection

As one of the world’s most popular Swiss watch brands, Swatch is also launching an entire product range for the Year of the Dragon. The range consists of five different watches, which each use the dragon motif in their own way: Dragon in Motion, Dragon in Cloud, Dragon in Wind Pay, Dragon in Waves and Dragon in Gold.

The prices of the watches range between 80 and 200 Swiss francs.


11. Victorinox: Crimson with Gold Dragon

The pocket knife producer from Ibach in the Canton of Schwyz is also celebrating the Chinese New Year with a special edition of its Huntsman, which is limited to 8,888 pieces.

The outside of the pocket knife is finished in an expressive crimson, with a gold dragon emblazoned on it. The technical highlights of the product, which Victorinox recommends as a gift for people born in the Year of the Dragon, include the versatile 16 tools, including a needle for replacing the SIM card on a smart phone.

The pocket knife costs 88 Swiss francs.
