BNP Paribas Wealth Management has rejigged its leadership in Asia into a more streamlined structure, finews.asia has learned, with the appointment of a new Hong Kong head.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management appoints Lemuel Lee as head of wealth management Hong Kong site, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, effective immediately.

In the role, Lee reports to BNP Paribas Wealth Management APAC CEO Arnaud Tellier as well as BNP Paribas Hong Kong CEO Hugo Leung.

Lee has 15 years of investment banking and wealth management experience, having first joined BNP Paribas in 2017. Previously, he also worked at JPMorgan, Bear Sterns and Bank of America in Hong Kong, Japan, London and New York.

Streamlined Leadership

Head of wealth management North Asia and Hong Kong CEO Michael Yong-Haron will be leaving the bank to pursue opportunities elsewhere after leading the regional business for more than two years.

Thereafter, head of Taiwan and Greater China Singapore Ruth Chung as well as a future China market head will also report to Tellier. The latest moves are part of efforts to streamline the French private bank's organizational structure in Asia.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
