The commercial banking arm of Citi has appointed a 30-year veteran as its head of Singapore.

Amit Dhawan has been named as head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) for Singapore, according to a statement, while retaining his existing role as head of emerging corporates for Asia. In the role, he reports to head of CCB for Asia North, Australia & Asia South clusters Gunjan Kalra, Citi country officer and head of banking for Citi Singapore Tibor Pandi as well as head of coverage, CCB Gaurang Hattangdi.

Dhawan has over 30 years of banking experience and first joined Citi as a management associate. He has been head of emerging corporates for Asia since 2017 and prior to this, he was APAC head of commercial lending management from 2012 to 2017.

CCB Strategy

According to Citi, CCB is an integral part of its global strategy and a key growth driver. It focuses on a product suite that includes cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange, trade finance, capital markets, lending solutions and more to mid-sized corporates that are either global or seeking to build an international footprint. 

Within Asia, CCB serves 11 markets including Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
