The Royal Bank of Canada’s wealth management arm has hired more than half a dozen private bankers in Asia from Credit Suisse, UBS and EFG.
RBC Wealth Management has hired Daniel Soo in Singapore as managing director and market head, according to a statement. He has 28 years of financial services experience, most recently at UBS where he was managing director and market team head. Previously, Soo worked at Credit Suisse for eight years and Standard Chartered Private Bank for nine years.
The Canadian private bank also hired Lawrence Yap as executive director in Singapore. Yap has nearly 25 years of banking experience, most recently at Credit Suisse where he spent eight years. Previously, he also held senior positions at Standard Chartered Private Bank and HSBC Private Bank.
Hong Kong Appointments
In addition, RBC Wealth Management has also announced a series of appointments in Hong Kong. They include ex-Credit Suisse executives Joe Lau (25+ years of banking experience) as executive director and team head, Ada Wang (20+ years of banking experience) as executive director, Christy Yuan (25+ years of wealth management experience) as executive director and Danny Zhao (17+ years private banking experience) as director.
The bank also welcomed former EFG executive Sarah Tan, who has 25 years of private banking experience, as executive director.
