Bolstering the product capabilities of its private banking unit, Standard Chartered has named a private markets head for South and Southeast Asia.

Standard Chartered has appointed Khoo Kian Jin as head of private markets – Southeast Asia and South Asia, according to a statement. In the role, he will be responsible for leading the bank’s private markets strategy to clients across the region. Based in Singapore, he reports to Nicholas Cheng, head of private markets group for the global private bank.

Khoo has close to 20 years of wealth management experience with a track record in private banking, family offices and commercial real estate. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he was head of private wealth for Asia capital markets at Jones Lang Lasalle. Before that, he was CEO at a single family office and a senior banker managing ultra-high net worth client relationships in Southeast Asia and Greater China for over a decade.
