Speculation is rife about where Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un might meet in Singapore. There are three options.

«On Singapore we'll see. It could very well happen,» U.S. President Donald Trump said of the on-again-off-again June 12 meeting. «Whatever it is, we'll know next week,» he said, speaking to the press at the White House. «If we go, I think it will be a great thing for North Korea.»

It is not by accident that Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un might meet in Singapore. The city-state in many ways is an ideal meeting point for the historic meeting.

Singapore has a state-of-the-art infrastructure, security is guaranteed at all times (no demonstrations take place ever) and the country enjoys some sort of neutral status between the East and the West – having successfully positioned itself in relation with both China and the U.S.

Top-Notch Facilities a Bonus

All these aspects will have been key when the diplomats arranged the meeting between the two alpha-males. And there’s one more reason for the happening to take place in Singapore: the city-state’s administrators are used to dealing with talks between representatives of the highest level.

The city has top-notch conference facilities that catered for a number of high-profile meetings before. For instance, when China’s President Xi Jinping met his Taiwan counterpart, Ma Ying Jeou in November 2015. It was the first such meeting since the end of the Chinese civil war in 1949.

The Options

The exact location of the meeting between Kim and Trump is known yet. In reality, there are three possible venues.
