Manulife Investment Management bolsters its multi-asset capabilities with the hire of a former portfolio manager from Schroders Investment Management.
Jeffrey Kan joins Manulife IM as a managing director and senior portfolio manager, asset allocation, according to a statement.
Kan has 17 years of investment management experience, most recently with Schroders Investment Management in Hong Kong where he managed various portfolios including multi-asset and fixed income strategies.
Onshore China Push
Manulife IM highlighted Kan’s experience with China’s onshore market, particularly with a focus on its multi-asset solutions team (MAST).
In the newly created role, Kan will also act as the dedicated liaison between MAST and the firm’s mainland entities which include joint venture fund house Manulife TEDA and wholly foreign-owned enterprise Manulife Investment Shanghai.
