Morgan Stanley Names Asia Revenue Target
US banking giant Morgan Stanley is reportedly seeking to up its revenue in Asia after a record performance in 2024.
Morgan Stanley is aiming to generate $10 billion in Asia revenue within five years, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing regional CEO Gokul Laroia.
In 2024, the American lender posted a record $7.64 in annual revenue in Asia. In the first quarter of 2025, it delivered strong revenues once again in the region with $2.35 billion, up 35 percent year-on-year.
Business Breakdown
According to a separate anonymous source in the report, Greater China accounts for about half of Asia’s revenue followed by Japan at 20 to 25 percent and India at approximately 10 percent.
«The sales and trading business continues to grow because there’s a very broad cross section of global investors and increasingly a rapidly growing pool of local capital that is trading these markets more actively than they have traded in the past,» Laroia said.
