The bank has a new prize for young artists in Southeast Asia working in digital media.
Julius Baer is offering a total of $60,000 in prizes across two categories: Still Image and Moving Image, with a panel of five jurors to select 20 finalists based on conceptual insight, originality of visual expression and utilization of the medium.
Artworks submitted for the «Next Generation Art Prize» should reflect the bank's vision of the future in one of the following themes: Arising Asia, Digital Disruption, Energy Transition, Feeding the World, Future Cities, Shifting Lifestyles, Inequality, and Sustainability.
Julius Baer's support for Southeast Asia's burgeoning art scene and a technologically advanced arts community «in line with a worldwide shift to focus on digital and technology’s value as a conduit of business and leisure that has seen attitudes and assumptions challenged by the advent of the pandemic,» Jason Moo, Julius Baer's head of private banking Southeast Asia, and Singapore branch manager, said.
