Bank of Singapore appointed Celine Le Cotonnec as chief data and innovation officer, a newly created role. 

Le Cotonnec joins from AXA Insurance Singapore, where she was instrumental in the implementation of data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance customer experience and generate new revenue streams, Bank of Singapore said in a statement on Thursday.

«Celine Le Cotonnec's stellar track record in the area of data analytics and innovation will help us to continue to build deeper relationships with our clients», said CEO Bahren Shaari.

Data and Innovation Officer Role

The creation of this role affirms the bank's commitment to leverage analytics and innovative technology to provide quality personalized insights to clients and optimize business efficiency as part of its digital transformation program.

Le Cotonnec has responsibilities for the bank’s data strategy to unlock new opportunities and deliver actionable insights for clients and business functions, the bank said. In addition, she will drive the bank’s innovation efforts as the head of the innovation unit.

Bearing Fruit

Through the use of data, artificial intelligence and machine learning in processes such as client risk analysis and onboarding, Bank of Singapore reported time savings of over 40 percent, freeing up employees for higher-value activities.

«Our digital transformation program is an integral part of our overall corporate strategy. It is for our clients and for our employees,» added Shaari.

Track Record

Le Cotonnec brings to the role more than 15 years of experience in the area of business transformation and data analytics in Asia. At AXA, she was pivotal in setting up partnerships with fintech and major tech companies to develop new insurance products.

Prior to this, Le Cotonnec was the head of connected services, digital, and mobility at the Asian arm of French automobile manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroen in Shanghai.
