RBC Wealth Management hires an ex-senior relationship manager from Bank of Singapore to lead a newly created team in Hong Kong.
Xygent Chan joins RBC Wealth Management as an executive director, according to a statement, reporting to Greater China head of private banking Ignatius Chong.
Chan has 30 years of industry experience, having most recently been with Bank of Singapore. Previously, he also worked for the likes of UBP, Coutts, ICBC and Bank of East Asia.
Global Approach
The Canadian private bank will take a global approach to the business in Hong Kong with Chan expected to continue to «deepen the links between our teams in Canada, the U.S. and the UK».
RBC Wealth Management maintains hiring momentum in Asia with the latest addition.
In December last year, it appointed ex-Credit Suisse banker Ida Lew as director and head of strategic initiatives for Greater China, a newly created role to further the bank’s relationship with global families in the region. In October, it added fixed income specialists Shawn Sim and Kennard Ling and Kennard Ling to bolster its investment advisory capabilities.
