J.P. Morgan’s vice chairman of investment banking for Asia Pacific is retiring after nearly three decades with the American lender.

Mac El-Omari will retire from J.P. Morgan, according to an internal memo, with a planned exit in summer after a few months of transition.

El-Omari first joined the bank’s New York office in 1992 before relocating to Hong Kong in 1996. He took on his current vice chair role in 2017.

«I’ll forever consider JPMorgan as [an] integral part of my life. My job was my true passion,» El-Omari said in a social media post. «It was an amazing ride. You’re all family to me.»
