A more than 20-year Deutsche Bank veteran has been reportedly appointed as the German lender’s chief country officer for Singapore.
Chandra Mallika has been appointed chief country officer for Singapore, according to a «Business Times» report citing an internal memo.
Mallika succeeds David Lynne who will stay with the bank and move on to lead the corporate banking unit globally.
Mallika spent more than two decades with Deutsche Bank after first joining in 1999 and is currently also its APAC chief operating officer. She also sits on the board of the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore. Previously, she worked at the Monetary Authority of Singapore for 11 years in various roles related to banking supervision and financial center development.
«[Mallika’s] decades of experience with the bank and deep understanding of Singapore’s markets and banking landscape are a great asset, and ideally equip her to lead the platform in one of our key global hubs,» said APAC chief executive Alexander von zur Muehlen in the internal note.
