The global bank names a senior HSBC executive and Singtel NCS Group managing partner to oversee the Singapore business.
British-based bank HSBC has appointed Sam Liew and Colin Bell as new board directors for its Singapore business, according to an announcement distributed to the media on Monday.
Liew is the managing partner of the so-called government strategic business group at Singtel NCS Group and he leads more than 6,000 technologists in the public service, defense, and homeland security businesses in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.
Before his current role, he was the managing director at Accenture ASEAN Technology.
Senior HSBC Executive
Bell is CEO of the HSBC Bank plc entity and the HSBC Europe business.
He joined HSBC in 2016 and was appointed group managing director in March 2017. He held the role of group chief compliance officer until February 2021. Bell also worked at UBS and spent 16 years as a senior officer in the British Army.
Both appointments to the board are effective from 4 April 2023.
