The long-tenured executive will oversee initiatives that take advantage of the government's measures to promote the country as a leading asset management center.

State Street Global Advisors, the US-based group's asset management arm, indicated in a media release distributed on Monday that it has appointed Dohei Echizenya as the head of Japan.

The step is effective immediately, and Echizenya will report to Kevin Anderson, head of Asia Pacific for State Street Global Advisors.

Leading Center

«Japan is an important market for State Street Global Advisors, and we see tremendous opportunities as the government implements various measures to promote Japan as (SIC: a) leading asset management center,» Anderson indicated in the announcement.

Echizenya has three decades of experience and joins State Street from Blackrock where his last position was as director of the client business division in Japan.

Complex Businesses

«Dohei’s extensive experience in developing strategy as an enterprise manager, adept at running complex, scalable, and growth-oriented businesses, will be instrumental in leading our team in Japan to enhance our offerings to Japanese investors,» Anderson further maintained.
