The China-focused fintech formerly known as Moovpay has brought on board two finance industry stalwarts to help drive business growth as it expands its product line and ventures into new markets.
Aleta Planet has appointed Jesline Teo as managing director, group finance, and Laurens Lim as director, group finance, the firm said in an announcement.
Teo, who will join on June 1, has spent more than 20 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services. She brings over 15 years of experience in transactions services, having led more than 200 merger and acquisition projects spanning sectors such as technology, retail, distribution and healthcare, as well as across different geographies including the US, Europe and China.
Lim, who started on May 18, was previously vice president and team head of retail reconciliation and investigation at United Overseas Bank, where he has worked for the past 17 years in card operations, including card payments and general ledger reconciliation.
Business Expansion
Aleta Planet recently partnered UnionPay to enable Chinese travelers to Singapore and Singaporeans visiting China to make digital payments with their mobile phones.
The firm is also planning to roll out its virtual commercial accounts for businesses and individuals to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) cross-border payments in a legal, secure and dynamic platform.
Founded in 2014 by former senior banker Ryan Gwee, Aleta Planet has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Dubai, and plans to expand to five new markets within the next two years.
