Alexander Gut, a candidate for the board at Credit Suisse, has a rather famous father, research by finews.asia revealed.

Alexander Gut, who is likely to be elected to the board of directors of Credit Suisse (CS) on April 29, 2016, is the son of Rainer E. Gut, honorary chairman of CS and an undisputed doyen of Swiss banking. A CS spokesman confirmed the report.

Alexander Gut is a financial auditor and carries a PhD in economics acquired at the University of Zurich. From 1991 to 2007, he worked for KPMG in Zurich and London as well as Ernst & Young Zurich as a bank auditor and transaction adviser for the financial services industry.

He started his career at Swiss Bank Corporation (which later was merged into UBS), leaving in the 1960s, because he wasn't promoted as he had hoped for.
