Standard Chartered Bank has announced that one of its longest serving senior bankers is about to call it a day. Currently the Vice Chairman ASEAN, he leaves behind an enviable track record of achievement.
Lim Cheng Teck has had a career spanning over 28 years with Standard Chartered and has held numerous senior roles, including Chief Executive, Singapore; Chief Executive, China; and Regional Chief Executive, ASEAN.
He has grown the Standard Chartered franchise in these roles, and built the bank's brand in some of its fastest growing and important markets.
Cheng Teck has also served on several of the Bank's subsidiary Boards, including Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited, Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) PCL, Standard Chartered Bank (Mauritius) Limited, Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and Executive Vice Chairman, Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited, the bank said in a press release.
Incredible Journey
Upon his retirement he will continue to support Ajay Kanwal, Regional Chief Executive, ASEAN and South Asia as Senior Advisor, where he will focus on key client relationships, and he will also remain as President Commissioner of PT Bank Permata Tbk in Indonesia.
«This has been an incredible journey with many highlights and two, in particular, stand out. I am proud to have led the growth of the Bank’s China franchise and the transformation of our Singapore business. It has been a great run and I am grateful to have worked with fantastic teams who have made all these possible,» Cheng Teck said.
