Credit Suisse has replaced the head of its investor communications department with an investment banker and senior advisor to Chief Executive Tidjane Thiam.
Adam Gishen is the Swiss bank's new head of investor relations, according to various media reports as well as Credit Suisse's own website. The 40-year-old British national was a rising star of European finance when Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam hired him away from London advisory boutique Ondra Partners last fall. Gishen replaces Christian Stark, a veteran European banking analyst who took the top Credit Suisse investor job in 2013. Stark moves to a role in performance analytics and government within the bank.
Prudential Ties
Gishen began his career in 1997 at Panmure Gordon before moving to now-defunct U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers. He moved to Nomura after the U.S. bank's collapse and partial sale.
He has been a partner at Ondra for the last ten years, and met Thiam through the firm's work for British insurer Prudential.
Respected Analyst
Stark worked for Credit Agricole Cheuvreux (Switzerland) prior to joining Credit Suisse, including as head of Swiss equities.
He was one of the leading and extremely well-respected financial analysts in that role. Stark joined Cheuvreux in 1999. He began his banking career as a UBS trainee.
