Strongest Sector at the Firm

As reported by finews.ch earlier, Williams’ departure from the Swiss bank has been set since early this year. Maria Leistner took his role as chief private banking legal counsel for UBS. The British-born Leistner has worked in several roles in Credit Suisse’s private bank since 2004.

«We’re committed to continuing to grow our financial institutions offering through our dedicated sector focus, as it remains one of the strongest sectors at the firm. As a firm, we are embedded into the international financial and regulatory community and Andrew William’s arrival will add to this and complement the team,» Jonathan Hammond, head of Simmons & Simmons’ financial institutions sector, said.

Williams will be based in London.
