PGIM Real Estate Names APAC Deputy Head
The real estate investment unit of Prudential Financial has appointed a deputy head for Asia Pacific.
PGIM Real Estate has appointed David Fassbender as deputy head of Asia Pacific, according to a statement. He is tasked with overseeing portfolio management strategies across APAC, driving the firm’s growth in the region and continuing to lead its largest APAC business in Japan. in the newly created role, he reports to Benett Theseira, head of Asia Pacific at PGIM Real Estate.
Fassbender has been with PGIM Real Estate for over two decades after first joining in 2002 and is currently head of Japan. He was previously head of Southeast Asia, based in Singapore. Moving forward, he will also retain his other existing role as senior portfolio manager for the APAC valued-added (AVP) strategies.
PGIM Real Estate has over 30 years of local presence in APAC and as of end-2024, it had $206 billion in gross assets under management and administration globally with real estate professionals located in 35 cities. It is the real estate investment and financing business of PGIM, the investment arm of Prudential Financial, which has $1.38 trillion in assets.
