M&G Prudential hires seven executives from the former boutique asset manager Port Meadow Capital to build a new Asia Pacific team.

Headlining the seven-strong hires is Carl Vine and Dave Perrett, co-founders of Oxford-based Port Meadow Capital, which wound down in mid-2019. Vine will become the manager for the firm’s Japan funds including «M&G Japan Fund» and «M&G Japan Smaller Companies», replacing Johan du Preeze who will be stepping down. Shane Kelly, current manager of the «M&G Global Recovery» fund will manage the Japan funds in the interim period. 

The five other hires will be located in Asia and London.

The British asset manager hired Greg Moore as head of Asian equity dealing; Vikas Pershad as portfolio manager; and Eleanor Kim as an analyst, all based in Singapore. Nick Cunningham joins as a Hong Kong-based senior analyst. Valentina Luo will join the London office as an analyst.
