The senior executive, who joins from UBS, will contribute to the overall business strategy of the firm’s fixed income business.
Capital Group has hired Alton Gwee to the newly created role of senior investment product specialist, the Los Angeles-headquartered firm said in a statement on Wednesday.
In this Singapore-based role, Gwee will work closely with the investment specialists, marketing and sales teams to market products across Asia. He reports to Matthew Dresch, investment product services senior manager, London.
Gwee joins from UBS Asset Management, where he was a fixed income product specialist for almost seven years. Prior to that, he was at Coutts as an investment advisor for almost five years, according to his LinkedIn profile. His move follows James Blair, investment director of fixed income, who also joined Capital Group from UBS AM in 2018, «CityWire Asia» noted.
According to Capital Group's website, its fixed income assets under management stood at $330 billion as of June 2019, while its total global AUM was $1.9 trillion.
