U.S. financial group BNY Mellon has appointed a successor for the role of Japan country executive.

BNY Mellon names Mark Militello as Japan country executive, according to a statement, succeeding Doug Hymas who has resigned from the firm.

Militello will relocate from Hong Kong to Japan while retaining his existing role as APAC head of markets and clearance and collateral management. 

Militello has over 18 years of living and working experience in Japan, having moved to the country in 1987 with Morgan Stanley where he began his career. While in Japan, he later worked for Lehman Brothers and Shinsei Bank where he held various senior roles including chief operating officer of the intuitional bank and co-head of corporate banking.
