A 24-year Pictet wealth veteran has been appointed as a chief investment officer for its private bank in Asia, according to an internal note seen by finews.asia.
Alexandre Tavazzi will take on a new role as Asia chief investment officer (CIO) for Pictet Wealth Management, according to the note, effective November 8. He continues to report to the head of investments and CIO Cesar Perez Ruiz and, locally, to Evelyn Yeo while retaining his existing roles as global strategist and head of CIO office for Pictet Wealth Management.
Based in Hong Kong, Tavazzi has been tasked with working closely with the region's wealth management investment platform and front office, engaging clients, branding and enhancing links between Asia and Geneva’s investment platform teams.
Since 1997
Tavazzi first joined Pictet in 1997 as a senior equity analyst covering the Japanese market and co-managing the bank’s Japanese equity fund. He held various senior roles in product advisory, portfolio management and research before joining the Pictet Wealth Management Investment Committee from 2004 to 2014.
In 2017, he was appointed global strategist and heads the CIO office of the bank’s wealth management investment platform. Prior to joining Pictet, Tavazzi worked at Wako Finance, Lehman Brothers and spent three years with Ferrier Lullin as a senior equity analyst and fund manager on the Japanese market.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
