Societe Generale has appointed a new head of global banking and advisory for Asia Pacific, replacing Stephen Swift who will be retiring.
Societe Generale has appointed Stephanie Clement de Givry as the Hong Kong-based head of global banking and advisory for Asia Pacific, effective 17 January 2022, the French lender said in a statement on Friday.
De Givry has over 25 years of banking experience, mainly in project and structured finance, across various regions with a focus on the energy, natural resources and industries sectors. She joined the firm in Mexico in 1996 from Chase Manhattan and moved to Paris in 2000, holding various positions in EMEA before moving to Asia, where she spent three years in Shanghai and five years in Hong Kong from 2006 to 2014.
For the past six years, she has been the bank's global head of mining, metals and industries finance, where she led the development of the existing franchise and the business line shift towards sustainability and energy transition including a change in scope to include industrial sectors supporting a low carbon future.
Innovative Solutions
Societe Generale has been actively growing its financing and advisory franchise in the region, including being a pioneer in supporting sustainable and positive impact finance, the announcement said.
In her new role, de Givr3y will develop the bank’s global banking and advisory business in the Asia Pacific region, which offers tailor-made and innovative financing solutions, spanning structured financing, debt capital markets, syndication, securitisation as well as strategic advisory services to clients and bringing a positive impact on society.
She will report to Gaelle Olivier, CEO of Societe Generale for Asia Pacific, and Pierre Palmieri, global head of banking and advisory.
