They join the 13-member board chaired by Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the city-state's central bank and regulator has appointed Alvin Tan Sheng Hui and Ng Wai King to its board of directors, it announced in a statement.

Tan is Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. Prior to joining the government in September 2020, he held leadership roles across the Asia Pacific region at LinkedIn, Facebook and Goldman Sachs.

Ng is the managing partner of law firm WongPartnership. He is a member of the National University of Singapore Board of Trustees, the Governing Council of Singapore Institute of Directors, the management committee of Lakeside Family Services and a Director on the Boards of Wah Hin and Singapore Institute of Legal Education.
