DBS has named a new chief sustainability officer, succeeding Mikkei Larsen who left the role in November last year.
Helge Muenkel has been appointed chief sustainability officer, according to a statement, effective immediately.
He succeeds Mikkel Larsen who left the role in November 2021 to become chief executive of Climate Impact X – a joint venture between DBS, the Singapore Exchange, Standard Chartered and Temasek.
Muenkel has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability and banking, most recently with ING as its head of APAC sustainable finance and global capital markets.
«Muenkel is well-placed to build on commitments we have made and steer DBS's efforts to unlock greater environmental, social and governance impact across the region,» said Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS which has committed to achieving net-zero by 2050.
