Do Kwon could be forced to return from Singapore to South Korea to face the music as authorities reportedly review a request to revoke his passport.
South Korea officials have issued a request to the Foreign Ministry to revoke Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon’s passport, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing unnamed sources. If successful, Kwon could be forced to return to Seoul within 14 days after receiving the notice of revocation.
The ministry said it is reviewing the request and indicated earlier that it was possible for Kwon to stay in Singapore without a passport.
This follows the issuance of an arrest warrant for Kwon and five others earlier this week. Kwon faces charges including alleged violations of capital markets laws with an estimated 280,000 South Korean invested in collapsed token Luna, according to local regulator Financial Services Commission. Kwon recently said in a rare media appearance that he plans to cooperate with authorities when the time comes.
