London-based Bonhams has opened a new Asia headquarters in Hong Kong to further its art ambitions in the region.

Bonhams is opening its new Asia headquarters in Hong Kong this month, according to a statement, in a strategic move that underscores its commitment to the region and aligns with its expanding operations. Located in Six Pacific Place, the headquarters boasts 19,000 square feet of space across three floors.

Headlining the launch will be the inaugural sales of the «Dr. Shing-Yiu Yip Collection of Classic Chinese Furniture». This will feature 15 pieces of furniture from the Ming dynasty with a total estimated value of over HK$50 million ($6.4 million).

«This museum-quality assemblage of Ming furniture showcases a unique combination of quality and rarity, featuring pieces seldom seen on the market that exemplify the pinnacle of craftsmanship,» said Julia Hu, Bonhams’ managing director, Asia. «We look forward to welcoming our clients to the preview at our new Asia headquarters, where they can immerse themselves in the beauty and artistry of these extraordinary treasures.»
