Morgan Stanley's head of Southeast Asia M&A is reportedly leaving the US bank to join boutique finance firm Raine Group.

Morgan Stanley managing director Jonathan Pflug will leave the bank to join Raine Group as it launches its Singapore office, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing unnamed sources, though the timing of the move has not been finalized. Pflug is currently Morgan Stanley’s head of Southeast Asia mergers and acquisitions as well as its head of Singapore coverage.

Pflug has worked at Morgan Stanley for over a decade and has advised on over $90 billion of transactions in Southeast Asia, according to his LinkedIn profile. 

Raine Group is a boutique merchant bank that focuses on transactors and investments in tech, media and telecommunications with offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Paris and Shanghai. Notable deals it advised on include Grab’s 2018 merger with Uber Southeast Asia and the sale of Chelsea Football Club this year to a group led by financier Todd Boehly.
