Aviva Investors has hired a former executive from Franklin Templeton to lead its business in Asia Pacific.
Richard Surrency joins Aviva Investors as its head of APAC, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, he reports to global head of distribution Scott Callander.
Surrency has more than 20 years of experience, most recently as Franklin Templeton’s Asia head of private markets and alternatives. Previously, he also worked at Morgan Stanley, BNY Mellon as well as Algebris Investments (Asia) where he was its chief executive officer.
«[Surrency] brings over 20 years of experience, exceptional leadership skills and strong relationships with major Asian institutions, including SWFs, pension funds, insurers and GFIs,» Callander said. «His wealth of experience and expertise will be invaluable in this critical role given the significance, scale and potential growth opportunities in the region.»
