After a transition period, Credit Suisse's head of global equities will depart the Swiss bank.
Anthony Abenante, the head of global equities for Credit Suisse will be departing after a transition period over the coming weeks, Credit Suisse, according to a memo obtained by finews.asia and confirmed by a spokesperson.
Abenante joined the firm in August 2017, holding several roles including global head of execution services and co-head of Americas equities. He later joined the investment bank management committee as global head of equities in April of last year after the Archegos default.
Three Decades in Banking
Over more than three decades Abenante served in several leadership roles, including CEO of Instinet and as an executive advisor to Aquiline Capital Partners' financial technology team. In addition, he was head of US equities at Nomura Securities.
In announcing his departure, the memo added that Credit Suisse is «truly grateful for his leadership and wisdom that proved instrumental in driving forward the strategy and vision for the equities division amidst a difficult environment.»
Abenante took over from Paul Galietto following the Archegos debacle.
