Singapore-based digital asset platform Metacomp has hired a banking veteran in North Asia as its chief financial officer.
John Kang has been appointed as the CFO for Metacomp and parent group Metaverse Green Exchange, according to a statement. In the role, he will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation and management of the firm’s financial activities alongside executive chairman and co-founder Dr. Bo Bai.
Kang has over 20 years of financial experience in North Asia, most recently as the CFO of global payment services firm EMQ. Previously, he also worked at Citi, Citadel, and Goldman Sachs.
Founded in 2018, Metacomp is based in Singapore and regulated by the city-state’s financial watchdog under the Payment Services Act. Its offering includes a digital exchange platform that focuses on institutional investors, accredited investors and corporates. Parent group Metaverse Green Exchange is a green fintech firm that provides end-to-end carbon-as-a-service solutions.
