Two Bankers catering to the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) market join EFG International in Switzerland.

Swiss private bank EFG International has managed to poach two bankers from Switzerland's second-largest bank, Credit Suisse, which is currently being taken over by competitor UBS after a government-instigated rescue action in March.

Chandan Gupta joins EFG International as a relationship manager starting this month. Besides working at Credit Suisse, he was also employed at Julius Baer, Bank of Singapore, and DBS Bank.

Sanjeev Sharma will also join EFG as a senior relationship manager from Credit Suisse. Before his stint at the troubled Swiss bank, he worked at Julius Baer, the Bank of Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank, J.Safra Sarasin, and Citigroup.

«They are both based in Zurich,» an EFG spokesperson confirmed to finews.asia.

Both of the new appointees, who will cover the global non-resident Indian (NRI) market, will report to Francois Farjallah, head of private banking in the Middle East.
