Chicago-headquartered Northern Trust has announced the appointment of a head for its Hong Kong entity.
Northern Trust appoints Benze Lam as the head of its Hong Kong entity, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, will retain his position as head of Asia ex-Japan for the asset management business while reporting to John McCareins, head of Northern Trust Asset Management in EMEA and APAC.
In the role, Lam will assume overall management oversight responsibilities for Northern Trust’s Hong Kong office and also lead business strategy as well as large client and regulatory relationships across Asia for Northern Trust Asset Management.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2014, Lam was the offshore China head of sales at UBS Global Asset Management where he was responsible for client relationship management across market segments for overseas investments. Previously, he also worked at Fidelity, State Street and Morgan Stanley in Sydney, Singapore and Beijing.
