She was once called «Money Martha» in finance. But now she has found a much greater calling.
Martha Boeckenfeld has become a United Nations Peace Ambassador (Unpaf), the renowned German financial expert reported on «Linkedin». Apparently, she was appointed by foundation chairman Anba Kunjayah after being named by Joy Case, the founder and CEO of AI for All.
Unpaf is an NGO with more than 150,000 members striving to make world peace a reality while making a positive impact on lives affected by conflict and crisis. According to Boeckenfeld, she accepted «with immense gratitude and a heartfelt commitment to our shared vision of a better, more peaceful, human and inclusive world».
Tech as a Force for Good
The newly minted peace ambassador last made a name for herself as a fintech visionary and Web 3 advocate and she wants to make sure that her industry experience helps her in the new role.
«In my two decades as a Web3 Advisor and digital innovation leader, I have always believed in the power of technology as a force for good. This new role amplifies my mission to harness digital strategies for educational empowerment and inclusive growth on a global scale,» she wrote in the same post on LinkedIn.
Board Member on Start-Ups
She is a trained lawyer who can look back at a successful career in various leadership positions. She worked for Axa in Switzerland as well as the European banking group BHF Kleinwort Benson. Moreover, she worked at UBS until 2021 responsible for building the mortgage platform Key4.
She remains a board member of Generali Switzerland and securitization specialist Gentwo. She is also engaged across various organizations and networks related to diversity, entrepreneurship, and future technologies, including AI and the Metaverse.
