Geneva-headquartered Pictet has appointed a new North Asia head for its wealth management unit, finews.asia has learned, following the retirement of a 35-year industry veteran.

Pictet Wealth Management has appointed Ann Mirjam Levy Duvernay as Hong Kong branch CEO and head of North Asia, according to an internal note seen by finews.asia, effective 1 January 2025. She will relocate on September 1 to Hong Kong for the role and report to Asia CEO Victor Aerni.

Levy Duvernay first joined Pictet in 2017 as the head of finance and business insights for its asset management unit and she is currently head of group internal audit. Prior to Pictet, she worked at KPMG for 14 years advising clients in the banking and asset management industry.

35-Year Private Banker

Levy Duvernay succeeds Alex Ng who has decided to retire at the end of 2024. He will remain with the bank at least until the end of 2025 as a senior advisor to work with clients, prospects and the local team.

Ng, who is also an equity partner at the bank, has worked at Pictet for five years and in the industry for more than 35 years. Previously, he also worked at Credit Suisse, UBS and Citibank.

Reshuffle

Meanwhile, Christophe Kratzer will replace Levy Duvernay as the head of group internal audit as of 1 May 2025 at the latest. Kratzer has 25 years of experience auditing financial firms and is currently a partner at PwC. In the interim, deputy head of group internal audit Pascal John will manage the bank's audit team after working at Pictet since 2001.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
