US asset manager Franklin Templeton has hired a former private banker from BNP Paribas Wealth Management. 

Franklin Templeton has appointed Gaurav Bathija to the newly created role of head of private banks and family offices for Asia, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, he reports to Christian Bucaro, head of wealth for Asia.

Bathija has over 25 years of experience across capital markets, private equity and private banking. He was most recently working at BNP Paribas Wealth Management as a managing director focusing on the family office segment in Southeast Asia. Previously, he also worked at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Citi Private Bank.
