London-headquartered professional services firm Ernst & Young has announced two senior appointments in Asia Pacific.

EY has appointed Yew-Poh Mak as Asia Pacific deputy area managing partner, according to a statement, succeeding Harsha Basnayake who assumes the new role of EY global managing partner – business administration & risk. In his new role, Mak will work closely with EY APAC area managing partner Patrick Winter and APAC area leadership to drive execution of the global strategy while building out strategic capabilities and operational functions. 

Mak has over 30 years of management consulting and corporate management experience. He was previously the EY APAC strategy and transactions (SaT) leader.

In turn, Shannon Cotter succeeds Mak as EY APAC SaT leader. Cotter has more than 25 years of experience in leading and advising clients on infrastructure, franchising and service contracting projects. She has been the Oceania SaT leader since 2021.
