A private banking veteran, most recently working at HSBC, has joined Nomura’s wealth management unit in Singapore, finews.asia has learned.

Philip Kunz has joined Nomura’s international wealth management (IWM) unit as managing director - senior advisor and group head, Southeast Asia, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. Based in Singapore, he reports to Anurag Mahesh, head of coverage for Southeast Asia, global South Asia & Middle East, IWM.

Kunz has over four decades of experience, most of which was based in Asia. He was most recently head of global private banking for South and Southeast Asia at HSBC. Prior to that, he worked at UBS in various senior roles, including chief operating officer of wealth management in Singapore. Previously, he also worked at Credit Suisse, ABN AMRO and Clariden Leu.

When contacted, a spokesperson for Nomura confirmed the contents of the memo.
