DBS has announced the appointment of a new consumer banking head for Singapore.

Calvin Ong has been named as DBS' head of consumer banking Singapore, according to a statement, effective 1 January 2025. He will succeed Jeremy Soo who will retire from his executive duties at the end of the year and stay on as an advisor.

In the role, Ong will oversee DBS and POSB’s consumer banking and wealth management platforms. He will look to further enhance the way the bank meets customers’ banking, payment, investing and financial planning needs across all digital and physical touchpoints.

Ong has worked at DBS for 17 years, having first joined the Singapore lender in 2007 as a management associate. He held various roles in the bank across private equity, group planning, treasury and markets as well as corporate treasury. He joined the consumer banking and wealth management group in 2021 and was most recently its head of investment products and advisory.
