Credit Suisse has appointed a highly regarded industry veteran as a senior adviser who will work with both existing and potential wealth management clients, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed to finews.asia.
Michael Wachtel (pictured below) was the Non Executive Chairman (Asia Pacific & Oceania) of Ernst & Young (EY) (2010-2015) and was a member of the EY Global Governance Council (2007-2015).
He has been an adviser to Australia’s leading multinationals and high net worth families for over 30 years. He joined EY at the time of the EY integration with Andersen in 2002.
He was the Global Leader for Tax Quality & Risk, a member of the EY Global Tax Executive and EY Global Risk Executive Committee (2012-2016).
Based in Melbourne, Wachtel was recently appointed to the board of The Future Fund by Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison and Finance Minister Mathias Cormann.
