The Generali Group, which operates in 10 Asian markets, has appointed a new Regional Officer for Asia.
In his new role, Roberto Leonardi will report directly to Frédéric de Courtois, CEO of Global Business Lines & International and be based in the regional hub in Hong Kong, the company said in a press release.
Leonardi (pictured) will be responsible for growing and managing Generali’s Life and Property & Casualty insurance businesses in Asia. He has over 25 years of experience in Life and Health businesses across Asia, Europe and South Africa.
Prior to joining Generali, Leonardi was with AXA Asia where he was in charge of Health & Employment Benefits, Protection, Marketing, Digital and Big Data.
He was also Regional Head of Munich Health overseeing the health reinsurance and insurance businesses with specific focus on Greater China, India, Indonesia and Japan.
Predecessor Jumped to Rival
«Rob has the track record and technical knowledge to drive our Asia businesses to the next level,» said de Courtois.

Howell joined from Generali, where he had held the role of Regional Officer for Asia since early 2015.
