Citi has announced an update on a number of new hires and promotions made to its wealth business in Australia.

Simson Sanaphay has been promoted to Senior Investment Strategist providing advice and insight to Citi’s relationship managers and the bank’s high net worth investors. Sanaphay joined Citi in 2001 and has more than 15 years' experience in foreign exchange markets, foreign exchange options and fixed income. 

Elsa Ouattara who joined Citi in January 2017, is a Fixed Income and Interest Rates Derivatives expert. In her new role she supports Citi’s global fixed income offering, and provides relationship managers with subject matter expertise and investment insight.

Prior to joining Citi, Quattara was a fixed income and rates derivatives sales manager at Nordea Markets and a fund specialist at BNPP Wealth management supporting clients across the Asia Pacific region, the, UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Adding to the new recruits is Damon Frith who joined Citi in 2017 and is responsible for producing and publishing investment insight and news for Citi Wealth’s clients. Prior to joining Citi, Damon was a senior correspondent for The Australian Financial Review, BRW Magazine and The Australian, and has managed a freelance writing and business strategy consultancy.

Head of Investment Specialists

The most senior recent hire is that of Danica Hampton as Head of Investment Specialists, Citi Wealth. Hampton is an experienced interest rate and currency strategist who will provide actionable insight to Citi Wealth’s relationship managers and the bank’s high net worth investors.

Hampton joined Citi in March 2017 and brings 16 years’ of investment expertise on interest rate, currency and derivatives risk. Prior to joining Citi, she held senior roles at National Australia Bank as Head of Currency Overlay and Solution Sales, and Bank of New Zealand as Senior Strategist in Global Markets Research.
